Another year, another successful One World Players’ Party at the One World Trade Center in New York City.

On Wednesday, August 22, the most electric player party taking place during the US Open Tennis Championships kicked-off with and evening featuring breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, live music, delicious food and creatively themed signature cocktails and drinks. The second edition of one of the most popular player parties in the sport of tennis was a night to remember.

Party-goers packed the 64th Floor of the One World Trade Center to mingle with many professional tennis players, who were in town to compete in the US Open, while seeing many of them participate in the $50,000 Ping Pong Shootout.

This year’s participants in the Ping Pong Shootout included former Top 10 players Tommy Haas, James Blake and Mark Knowles, PGA Tour star Matt Kuchar, ATP World Tour players Lucas Pouille, Mischa Zverev, Donald Young and Nicholas Monroe, as well as musician and avid tennis player Redfoo.

After many competitive matches, the final featured Las Vegas Tennis Teaching Professional Tim Blenkiron and 2017 winner Andreas Siljestroem. In a back-and-forth battle between the two, it was Blenkiron, who dethroned the defending champ to take home the $30,000 winner’s prize. Siljestroem earned himself a runner-up check of $15,000.

Other professional tennis players making appearances during the party included Caroline Wozniacki, Agnieszka Radwanska and Grigor Dimitrov. Celebrities in attendance included Dimitrov’s girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger and Christopher McDonald, best known for his role as Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore.

Many media outlets were also in attendance including Polonia Magazine, NBC Sports, Tennis Channel and Outside the Bal.

The event, which was organized by Pawel Gasior of SG Doyen, had Metal as its title sponsor for this year’s event. Other sponsors included Inglot, Dr. Smood, Titos, GT Living Foods/Kombucha and Lamborghini. SPiN oversaw the Ping Pong Shootout and hosted the after party, while Quintessentially provide pre-event and on-side concierge services. Throughout the evening, The National Tennis Foundation was able to raise money through a live auction, as well as many guests generously donating money while the event was taking place.

Many pre-US Open parties take place during the US Open Tennis Championships, but after just two years inexistence, the One World Players’ Party continues to be one of the hottest tickets in town and a party with a lot of buzz due to all the player appearances and happenings throughout the evening. It is definitely a party that you do not want to miss in 2019.
